The U.S. Department of State will begin accepting online applications for the 2024 Diversity Visa Lottery on Wednesday, October 5 at 12:00 p.m. ET. Applicants must submit their applications by 12:00 PM ET on November 8.
In fiscal year 2024, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs will issue 55,000 green cards to foreign nationals.
The Diversity Visa Program offers aliens from countries that do not normally send large numbers of immigrants to the United States the opportunity to obtain a green card. The following countries are not eligible to apply for 2024: Bangladesh, Brazil, Canada, China (including Hong Kong SAR), Colombia, Dominican Republic, El Salvador, Haiti, Honduras, India, Jamaica, Mexico, Nigeria, Pakistan, Philippines, Republic of Korea (South Korea) , the United Kingdom (except Northern Ireland) and its dependent territories, Venezuela and Vietnam. Locals from Macau SAR and Taiwan are eligible.
